The King and his Son

Description

Ahadi with his youngest son :)
I've been working on this for a couple of days - the background took the longest but it was all good fun C:

Anyways, that's my version of Ahadi :D

In my Taka/Scar theory he has a good relationship with both his parents (I know that a lot of people like the Ahadi-is-an-abusive-Father-theory but not me, I like a nice Ahadi and a nice Taka. In my theory I also believe that Mufasa gave Taka his scar; not Boma or Ahadi) ;)

And here's a little piece of writing to go with the picture:

----------

“Taka, will you walk with me this morning?” Ahadi asked from the mouth of the cave.
Scar raised his head from where it rested on his paws, he blinked once before replying, “Of course, Father.”
He pulled himself to his feet and glanced at Uru who nodded encouragingly; with a shrug he walked from the cave to join his father upon the plateau of Pride Rock.
With a curt nod from Scar to his Father the lions descended their home and began to make their way through the savannah.
“Is something wrong, Father?” Scar asked once they were a little way off from Pride Rock.
Ahadi glanced at his son before answering, “I wish to ask something of you, Taka”
“What is it?” Scar quizzed with a raised eyebrow.
“It’s about Mufasa,” Ahadi said softly.
“Oh...” Scar sighed, glancing in the other direction.
Ahadi placed one great paw in front of the other as they continued to walk amongst the gasses, “I understand that it is a sore topic for you but if it wasn’t important, I wouldn’t ask.”
Scar looked up at his Father with uncertain eyes, “I’m listening,” he murmured.
The King smiled slightly at his Son’s words before continuing, “I know that things are strained between you and your Brother and I also understand why. If I had been through the same as you, Taka, I can assure you I would feel the same. I know it is a lot to ask of you but I want you to try to make things right with him; I’m not asking you to pretend that what happened didn’t but I am asking you to forgive him for his actions. Please believe me when I say that I am not making excuses for his behaviour but I am certain that he regrets what he has done with every ounce of his being. You were young when it happened, it was a long time ago, but he still feels the guilt now as much as he did then. He can’t forgive himself. I know deep down that you have forgiven him, Taka, but you need to tell him that: it’s affecting the both of you... When was the last time you ate, Son?”
Scar looked to his Father again, noting the sad expression in his emerald eyes ‘my eyes’. “A few days ago... maybe more.”
“Taka...” Ahadi sighed, his heart-broken expression worsening, “You can’t live like this.” He looked away, his full, ebony mane ruffling slightly in the breeze. “And now Sarabi tells me that Mufasa is becoming distant also.”
Scar looked shamefully at his paws as he walked over the dusty ground. He thought about his skinny figure; he never used to be this thin but his appetite had vanished when his trust in Mufasa had.
When Scar said nothing Ahadi spoke again in a subdued, rumbling voice, “Mufasa was my heir by birth-right but I never wanted to treat you any different. Mufasa would be King but I brought you up to rule beside him. I won’t be around forever, Taka, one day your Brother will need you; more than he does now. You have to make things right before it is too late.”
“It’s... It’s hard, Dad. It hurts...” Scar looked at his Father with wide, sad eyes.
“I know, Taka” Ahadi murmured softly, “I can only imagine what you’ve been through but the times are changing and Mufasa will be lost to us soon. Only you can save him, Taka.”
“I’ll try, Dad. I promise”

I also think that Ahadi would call Scar Taka even though he's changed his name :D

I guess it's because abusive or mean parents are more relatable.
